Rumors of TVB acquisition

Recently there was a rumor spreading in the television industry that '4th Uncle' Lee Shau Kee is planning to acquire ownership of TVB. Many artistes paid attention to this news, among them TVB King Wayne Lai. He jokingly commented that if the rumor is true, he hopes 4th Uncle will be generous and increases the employee salaries.

The 43 year old TVB have been rumored of acquisition attempts in the past. The most recent one is real estate tycoon Lee Shau Kee attempting to privately acquire TVB. Rumors have it that Lee Shau Kee has reached an agreement with Sir Run Run Shaw (6th Uncle, TVB current boss); the rest are just procedural documentations. The acquisition was rumored to cost over HKD9 billion.

Charmaine Sheh is currently busy filming new series [Colorful World of Sister Fa], hence she has no idea about the news of TVB being acquired. In her opinion, Sir Run Run Shaw is a good and considerate boss. At the moment, she has not thought of the possible changes if TVB was acquired. "6th Uncle is a good boss; I think that if the rumor is true, there will be changes in the management. It would not affect us artistes greatly. No matter who is the boss, of course it's every employee wish for increase in salary."
