'Forensic Heroes' Become Fundraising Heroes

TVB series Forensic Heroes II <法證先鋒II> begins airing in Hong Kong tomorrow and a promotional premiere event was held today at Olympian City.

Cast members including Bobby Au Yeung (歐陽震華), Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), Frankie Lam (林文龍), Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Linda Cheung (鍾嘉欣) attended the event to show their support.

In light of the recent events following the earthquake that struck Sichuan last week, the artistes were all keen to gather donations from the fans. To drum up some interest, they autographed copies of the promotional posters to give to fans in exchange for donations to the aid appeal.

Charmaine celebrates her birthday on 28 May, but she revealed that she does not plan to have a party. Instead she hopes that her friends and family will donate the money that they would have spent on gifts and celebrations to the earthquake appeal, because her birthday wish is for more funds to be raised to help the victims. She said that every time she reads the reports from the disaster zone, she cannot hold back the tears becaus the pictures and stories of suffering are so terrifying. She hopes that everyone will learn to cherish their own lives and belongings after seeing the plight of these people.

Bobby has also been very upset about the news reports from Sichuan, but he is also comforted by the story of how a girl who was comforted by China president Mr Wen Jiabao was eventually reunited with her parents and family. He said that he felt a valuable lesson is learned every time something terrible like this happens in that everything can be lost in a split second, so we should cherish even more what we have.

As well as helping to ask viewers to pledge donations in yesterday's TVB fundraiser, Yoyo also helped out to take telephone calls. When reporters asked if these calls were more important than a call from boyfriend Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健), she laughed that these calls were more important than any other. She added that she was quite useless because she wanted to cry every time she was asked to speak on the show, so she will be praying for the victims every day.
