Lovers’ quarrel ends in toddler’s death
Two-year-old Koh Jen Nee stared in fright when her mother and her boyfriend were quarelling violently at their home in Taman Nirwana, Ampang, last Saturday evening.
She did not scream or cry but just stared at the couple helplessly. Her mother’s boyfriend, however, did not like the look on the little girl’s face.
He did the unthinkable: He grabbed her violently and hit her several times, even forcing her face into a pail of water.
Several minutes later, Jen Nee lost consciousness. She died three days later without regaining consciousness.
A post-mortem put the cause of death as blunt trauma to the head. Her mother’s boyfriend, a 36-year-old unemployed, was arrested and is now facing a murder charge.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azri Ahmad said the boyfriend was arrested on Monday after the hospital authorities alerted police to a suspected child abuse case. "The case now has been re-classified as murder," Azri said.
The girl’s mother, when met at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary yesterday, said she and her boyfriend were having a quarrel on Saturday evening.
The 24-year-old mother, who works at a nightclub, said her boyfriend was angry when she did not return home on Friday night.
Jen Nee spent Friday at her grandparents’ home in Taman Putra. On Saturday, before the quarrel, the couple picked up the child and returned to their home in Taman Nirwana.
Speaking amidst sobs, the mother claimed the quarrel escalated when they reached home and her boyfriend flung a chair at her, hitting her on the head.
At that time, Jen Nee was standing close by, watching them argue. The mother said her boyfriend, who spotted Jen Nee watching the commotion, turned his anger on her daughter.
When the child lost consciousness, they took her to a private hospital in Ampang. She was transferred to KLH the same night when her condition deteriorated.

I'd say "HANG HIM!" I believe he will try to appeal for manslaughter which means he could walk away after a few years in jail. This scum is a total waste of our taxpayers money.

May I add also that the mother should be hanged for getting involved with such a man. Like as if she can't find another man. Mom just as guilty, for bad taste.
ReplyDeleteBy the way NO WAY it will be manslaughter. He can plead provocation but what did the child do to provoke him? Staring at him? He will get murder, and he will be hanged unless he got pardoned OR WORSE as our judiciary seems fond of doing, saying no case to answer and without calling for defence he will be let of for lack of evidence. Look at that poor Chinese boy's case. What manslaughter? It is called culpable homicide not amounting to murder. And it won't be a few years. Believe me when I say this, when he gets jailed, he will get punished in the prison because the prison has its own system. Murderers of adults, robbers and gangsters may be criminals but they have very little tolerance for child rapists, and especially child killers. He will have a very very tough time in prison. And I look forward to that!
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I told the same thing abt the mother to my sis and my colleague and they seem to give the same answer. "Aiya, she is a nightclub girl, where to find a nice guy who will want her?"

To my shock, my colleague sort of belittle me with the comment that I don't understand how these community work (clubgirls, shappoo girls) as their personal life is wild. Sort of like that it's perfectly acceptable for them to find any rotten guy because they're lonely.
Common sense here, people! I'm starting to think i have a big mindset gap with them as they keep trying to preach me that a girl ultimately need to get a man (otherwise there must be something very wrong with her).
Sad isn't it? That a woman is incomplete without a man, ANY MAN that is. I mean even a prostitute deserves better! I don't mean Bill Gates or some great dude in a great job but people, decent man, is that so much to ask for? Why subject oneself to scums and no good S.O.B just because you need a man when you can do better without? See! See! Now no daughter, no boyfriend and got oneself in a whole lot of mess.
ReplyDeleteSehseh you're not alone in your thoughts. I'd rather be alone and horror! horror! lonely spinster than to be involved with someone so beneath my expectation of a decent good man. Sad to say in the end it boils down to PHYSICAL NEEDS I tell you!
