Charmaine Sheh doesn't believe TVB have a blacklist

Last evening Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Charlene Choi etc attended the award presentation gala of Marie Claire magazine. As the issuance of free tv license is currently a hot topic, Charmaine frankly said she is paying attention to the update and showed her support to people working in Hong Kong TV industry. As government have their own rules and reasons in issuing the license, she hope the government will at least provide a clear answer. As an artiste, Charmaine agrees that having more TV stations is a good thing: "This is good for audience and people working in the industry, we can improve by having competition."

Charmaine have plenty of friends who are working in HKTV. "Catherine Chow is my friend, Bryant Mak is my godbrother. (Did they complaint to you?) No, they are currently busy with work." Mentioning that TVB is welcoming their former staff to come back, there are rumors that TVB have blacklisted a few artistes from returning. Charmaine said: "I believe they will welcome back all the ex-artistes, I don't think there's a blacklist. The issuance of licence will create a round of competition, there's need for manpower, the situation will improve soon." At this, Charmaine joked that she is beginning to sound like Tsang Sing Ming (TVB Director of Foreign Affairs).

Due to the loss of talent, TVB is facing a decline in artistes with onscreen charisma. Charmaine replied: "Actually, a lot of green leaf (supporting) artistes left, such as Bak Yan. It reduces the scenes where 3 generations of people gather and there's a missing gap of older artistes. Maybe that means I should age faster."

Speaking of TVB's new music label Star Dreams, Charmaine said: "I don't know. I'm not a singer. (Did anyone approached you to participate in [The Voice of Stars]?) No, if they wanted me to develop in singing, they would have done so 10 years ago. Let the newcomers do it."
