Two days ago, Charmaine took a break from filming [Can't Buy Me Love] and went for high tea with friend at Central. The paparazzi are annoying as usual, therefore Charmaine left after finishing her meal.

Heavy head accessories in [Can't Buy Me Love] resulting in injuries among the cast

Due to the heavy wig and head accessories in [Can't Buy Me Love], a lot of female cast are suffering from neck and spine injuries. Though Charmaine's head accessories is one of the heaviest among the cast, she manage to handle it well.

"Touch wood! Maybe because I know the accessories are heavy, therefore I'm very careful - 1st I don't make big movement and 2nd I sit straight to keep the weight balanced (on neck & spine)."

Mainland China grand production costume series 《秦香莲》 {Qin Xiang Lian) is going to be filmed soon in Hengdian. The series will be helmed by director Bai Yong Cheng and is expected to start filming in April. It will be a star-studded series - among those confirmed are Wang Gang, Liu Xue Hua, Jin Zhao Qun, Paul Chun Pui, Tik Lung, Michelle Yim and Kenny Kwan.

However, the leading actor and actress for the role of Chin Shi Mei and Qin Xiang Lian are unconfirmed.

Actresses such as Sun Li, Charmaine Sheh, Fan Bing Bing, Huo Shi Yan etc. was approached for the role of Qin Xiang Lian. As for Chin Shi Mei, actors such as Ren Quan, Chen Kun, Yan Kuan, Hawick Lau etc are being considered.

(Chen Shi Mei was infamous in Chinese folklore for being a heartless and ungrateful husband).

Before anyone get overexcited, please note that Charmaine is not confirmed to take part in this series. Mainland production companies are known for quoting big names to attract publicity for the series.

Doesn't match:
Schedule - Charmaine has another TVB series in April/May, considering that Qin Xiang Lian is the leading female role, it is not possible for her to film 2 series at once.

Venue - Hengdian. I'm not sure how many series can be filmed in Hengdian studio at the same time, but chances of two grand production filming at similar schedule?

Theme - Earlier Yu Zheng indicate that he heard that Charmaine will be filming a court series (though the title seems like a comedy). In original story of Qin Xiang Lian, a part of the storyline took part in court presided by Justice Bao.

TVB Producer Nelson Cheung Kin Man has worked in the television industry for more than 30 years. Based on his daring casting and innovations, he produced many successful onscreen pairing that brought fresh feeling to audiences. For example Charmaine Sheh and Dayo Wong in [You're Hired], Roger Kwok and Sonija Kwok in [D.I.E.] left a deep impression. Among them, Charmaine and Dayo fresh pairing create chemistry and delight beyond expectation.

Nelson enjoys watching movies since childhood. Due to the immense growth of Hong Kong movie industry during the 70, 80's era, he was influenced by rising directors such as Tsui Hark, Ann Hui etc to join the filming and production profession. He joined Rediffusion Television (RTV) in 1979 as PA and was promoted as director after two years. In 1985, he joined TVB and was promoted as producer in 1989. His works including [One Step Beyond], [Love is Beautiful], [Dicey Business], [D.I.E.] and [You're Hired] garnered ideal ratings and good reviews.


Nelson likes to take risk therefore he is daring and creative in his casting. Back in 1991, he picked Dicky Cheung and Deric Wan to collaborate in [One Step Beyond] and their comedic portrayal is still as memorable today. In his recent production [You're Hired], he picked the new pairing of Charmaine and Dayo. The audiences love them and even Nelson himself was surprised by this pairing.

"I really admire Dayo. He is a genius actor and works hard to improve himself. He made a lot of preparations before filming series. He excels in many areas; from TV series to stage theater and stand-up comedy. He is a generous person and is willing to share new ideas. When filming series, he also takes care of other cast and led them into character. Though Charmaine is already a n established actress, she still pours a lot of effort in acting. Not only does she meet the requirements of producer; she often brought wonderful surprises as well. The pairing created a lot of sparks and discovered Charmaine's potential in comedy."
