Last evening, TVB aired the finale 2 episodes of [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] live at Discovery Park Mall. They also organized a special show half hour before the series start where its cast members such as Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, Michelle Yim, Susanna Kwan, Susan Tse appeared in their costumes and shared memorable and NG clips with live audience. There was an estimate of 2000 people at the mall.

Emcee Amigo Chui also took the opportunity to tease rumored couple Charmaine and Kevin onstage. They managed to shrug off the questions by smiling embarrassingly.

Charmaine and Tavia praised each other performance in the series. Charmaine laughed and said: "Eunuch/General Ma was defeated by Kam Ling!" and Tavia in response: "Kam Ling was defeated by Sam Ho!" Both Charmaine and Tavia have high hopes for the ending ratings. Charmaine hopes that the ratings will reach 50 points, while Tavia wished that it will reach 51 points, breaking [Jewel in the Palace] record.


Kara Hui who has just won the Best Supporting Actress Award at 46th Golden Horse Award brought along her trophy in hopes of bringing luck to her co-stars Charmaine and Tavia in the upcoming TVB anniversary award. Charmaine and Tavia gave Kara a big congratulatory hug and indicate that they will celebrate with her afterward.

Producer Mui Siu Ching revealed that she has decided to film a new costume series [Princess Marriage] with [Beyond] original cast due to popular response from audiences. The costume comedy series cast consists of Charmaine, Moses, Fala Chan, Linda Chung etc. As Tavia and Kevin are currently busy filming another series, they will not be taking part in [Princess].

The competition for 'TV Queen' in TVB anniversary award has always been fierce and this year is no different. After 'Yu Fei', the mega popular Sheren Tang transformed into '4th Mistress' to fight nemesis 'Sam Ho' Charmaine Sheh once again. Unexpectedly more rivals joined the competition, such as underdog 'Yat Sum' Anita Yuen and 'Kam Ling' Tavia Yeung who is advancing through the ranks. Will Sheren once again lose out due to the fact that she is not 'biological daughter' (TVB management artiste)? Or would it be a glorious victory for her? Before the award conclude coming Friday, the daily interviewed these four 'TV Queen' candidate to learn more about their thoughts.

'Biological daughter' voice of heart Charmaine Sheh: More opportunities

Every year as the anniversary award approaches, being TVB managed artistes or non-TVB managed artistes will always be listed as one of the requirement to win award. As TVB 'biological daughter', Charmaine said: "I feel that there is no big difference. Last year Ha Yu, Michelle Yim winning TV King and Queen Award is the best example. However, I admit that being so-called 'biological children' have more opportunities; we received better roles and position. This is mutually supportive, since we signed management contract the company will naturally arrange for a smooth career development for us. However, we also need to work hard and grasp the opportunities. We cannot slack off. I've seen people who does not treasure and grasp the opportunities and let it slipped away. A series cost over HKD10 million to produce, the company will not invest in newcomer whom doesn't work hard."

Accepting both positive and negative

Discussing on the topic of her being elevated due to her 'privileged status', Charmaine laughed and said: "If being 'biological' can automatically win award, then I wouldn't need to wait 10 years to get mine! Luckily back then no one questioned whether my win is due to being 'biological' or not. The truth is that I have sacrificed a lot of effort and time to polish my acting. I understand that being an artiste is bound to criticism; I will accept both positive and negative comments. I'm feeling quite relax toward this year's award. The atmosphere outside is getting tense and is good for making the show more interesting. Actually I don't mind whether I win or not, if I lose this year I can always make a comeback next year."

[Mingpao, Singtao 27/11/2009]

Last evening, Charmaine Sheh attended Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Watch as special guest. She appeared wearing a bare back evening dress and jade jewelries worth more HKD4 million and unveiled the new collection of watches. Other than receiving fees, Charmaine also wore a diamond watch worth HKD400, 000, which was given as a gift from the organizer. Charmaine smiled and said that her character Sam Ho in [Beyond] has brought her plenty of extra income and she hope that gifts and cash will continue to roll in.

Though she has not calculated how much she has earned so far, Charmaine revealed that she earned around HKD1 million for this month. She also revealed that her mother will be returning to Hawaii soon: "Afterward I will be filming new series [The Princess Marriage]. I hope I will be able to take a long break and accompany my mother to vacation after filming end."

Charmaine feel saddened at the death of fellow actor Chan Hung Lit and said that the entire cast and crew of [Heaven & Earth] are depressed. She decided to face it positively: "Lit Gor has always been professional; I believe that he would not want us to continue unhappy at work. (Does Lit Gor sudden demise affect the filming?) We don't have much scene together; we only filmed a few shots. The producer will be making arrangement." She indicates that she will be attending Lit Gor's funeral if time permit. Mentioning that Lit Gor's children might face difficulties in daily lives, Charmaine said: "We will certainly help out if necessary, the company has already contacted Lit Gor's wife."
