Hong Kong series [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] set to penetrate Korean market

[People.com.cn 08/06/2009]

Hong Kong TVB station new series [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] is set to penetrate Korean market. KCTA TV Cable Show 2009 was recently held in South Korea and TVB promoted [Beyond] in the exhibition, with Kevin Cheng, Charmaine Sheh and Tavia Yeung attending to show support.

TVB Head of Distribution Department Lee Tak Kei said: "[Beyond] has finished filming and now in editing stage. We estimate that it will be aired in TVBKorea channel around the month of September simultaneously with Mainland China." TVBKorea is a digital cable channel under the collaboration of TVB and CMB, mainly airing HK series and programs related to China. According to TVBKorea management, TVBKorea subscribers count have already exceeded 9 million since its launch in last year's March. The ratings have increased steadily and they believe that [Beyond] rating will bring it to a higher level.

Regarding the series, leading character Charmaine indicates to reporters: "[Beyond] will be more exciting than [War & Beauty] to watch. It's one of the best costume series I've ever filmed. I believe that Mainland China audiences will like it as well."

Mentioning about his filming experience, Kevin said: "I feel that filming costume series is extremely difficult, especially with so many complex dialogs. It's very difficult. In addition, we have to wear thick costumes in the hot weather. We are soaked with sweat by the time we finish filming."

Tavia felt the same: "We also have to wear heavy wigs, it's extremely difficult. I only adjusted to it when we are nearing the end of filming."

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us September? That's an extremely good spot for [Beyond] if aired in HK? TVB did not mention that they will air it in HK simultaneously. Kind of remind me of [TDOL], which was aired in Mainland China first. I hope it will be aired in HK at the same time.

Don't forget to take part in [Heaven & Earth] poll below!
